Piano tuning and maintenance

Clarity Piano was founded in 2022 by Matt Wallace. Matt has a career in the music industry dating back to 2002. He has been a vocalist, pianist, and organist in churches, schools, and all sorts of entertainment venues. Matt also has a love for problem solving and working with his hands, as a woodworker and machinist. TUNING:

SOFT OPENING PROMOTIONAL PRICE: 

$100 for standard tuning

It is recommended that you have your piano tuned every 6-12 months, depending on use. Changes in weather, can cause your instrument to expand and contract with the changes in humidity, causing it to slip out of tune. When the piano is out of tune, it not only affects the individual notes, but also the resonance of the piano as a whole.

PITCH RAISE:

STANDARD TUNING + additional $50

If a piano has not been maintained for an extended period of time, it may need a pitch raise. As it expands/contracts with the changes in weather, your piano loses some of its tension on the strings, causing the entire instrument to lower in pitch. A technician will first need to bring up the tension on the strings before fine-tuning them.

CLEANING:

$25 for inside and out

Many of the moving parts inside the piano contain felt, and as it wears down, this felt can create a lot of dust inside your piano, deadening its tone. Your piano also can accumulate lost pencils, coins, and other foreign objects through regular use. If the inside hasn't been opened in years, there's no telling what other treasures may be hiding in there! A technician can clean the piano inside and out to keep the action in working order and to keep the tone full and vibrant.

ADDITIONAL REPAIRS/MAINTENANCE:

Additional repairs such as sticking keys, keys not sounding, dampers not stopping the sound, etc., will be assessed and quoted at the time of your appointment.
